Calling it “insanity” is somewhat misleading. Austerity is accomplishing exactly what it was designed to do – consolidate wealth and power in the hands of the few with no regard whatsoever for anyone else. It’s class warfare, pure and simple, but most of those on the losing side don’t even realize there’s a war going on all around them.
