Office Depot and OfficeMax were caught faking virus scan results to trick people into buying $300 service for their uninfected computers. The practice resulted in tens of millions of dollars in undeserved revenues. The company punished stores and employees who did not participate in the criminality or did not do so sufficiently. Despite settling with the FTC, the companies did not admit their guilt.
Take your business elsewhere. The executives in charge should do jail time, but, since this is America, that’s highly unlikely.
